Playing with Size

Join Maria Nikolajeva, Professor of Children's Literature at Cambridge University as she combines her professional interests in children's literature with a passion for miniature-making. Based on recent brain research, the session will explore our fascination with the miniature and will consider the ways stories about dollhouses and miniatures encourage us to think about space, size and scale. It will be followed by a hands-on workshop, allowing the participants to build their own room boxes inspired by Mary Norton's classical children's book The Borrowers.
