Sikh Empire Artefacts from Maharajah Duleep Singh to Sophia Duleep Singh

Gurinder Singh Mann, historian and Director of the Sikh Museum Initiative, will discuss the types of objects that came from the Punjab. He will consider relics and artefacts that were in the possession of Maharajah Duleep Singh – most notably the jewellery – as well as that of his mother, Maharani Jindan Kaur. This leads to a fascinating story of how they were handed down to Sophia Duleep Singh and her role in the Suffragette movement. There will also be a spotlight on the Anglo Sikh Online Museum, where the 3D jewellery of Sophia Duleep Singh is on display as part of the exhibition at Thetford. Part of the Festival of Norfolk and the Punjab. Booking essential via the Leaping Hare Box Office.
