Guided Walk - West Rudham: the Neolithic long barrow

On this walk we will visit one of Norfolk’s very earliest ceremonial monuments, the West Rudham long barrow. This long burial mound was built by Norfolk’s first farming communities over five thousand years ago and still survives to be visited on a remote patch of heathland. We will have plenty of opportunities to discuss what prehistoric people would have seen in this landscape high above the headwaters of the River Wensum. Meet on the village green at East Rudham, outside the Crown Inn (sat nav PE31 8RD). Advance booking essential.
